Faith in Action

When our communities experience a crisis, our faith must turn into action. The familiar biblical passage tells us that “faith without works is dead.”  But another translation says that “God-talk without God-acts is outrageous nonsense.” The COVID-19 crisis requires that we do more than demand responsiveness from institutions and systems leaders. This is the moment that we all put our faith to use by doing God-acts in very tangible ways

With the generous support of philanthropic partners and individual donors, COPE has created a COVID 19 Emergency Fund to provide emergency aid to families in need. To date, we have distributed more than 100 gift cards for food and gas; sheltered 15 people in hotels, and distributed over 50 hygiene kits.

We intend to continue to do what we can to support members of our community.  If you are in need or know someone in need, we ask that they complete an intake online form.

Funds are limited but we will do our best to provide support. If you wish to contribute to the fund, you may do so through our website at ( Your donation is tax-deductible.

We sincerely appreciate your prayers, your activism, and your generosity. Be well and stay safe.
