Civic Engagement Coordinator
Tamez is a dedicated and driven individual with a passion for respect and equal rights for everyone. Tamez first joined COPE in 2021 working on multiple phone banking, canvassing, and civic engagement projects and has consistently demonstrated a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence in all endeavors. Working with COPE as the Civic Engagement Coordinator since March of 2025, he is excited about joining COPE’s team to help make a positive impact on the community.
Tamez’s background includes over ten years of working in security and some experience in welding and the heavy equipment industry. This experience has provided him with a diverse skill set and a well-rounded perspective. He is known for his ability to problem-solve, collaborate, and lead in a respectable manner.
Originally from Charlotte, N.C., Tamez has lived in San Bernardino for over 20 years, where he has been a dedicated provider for his wife and kids. He has been volunteering for multiple community gardens over the years such as the Akoma Unity Center, Sisters Are We, and the Garcia Center. In his free time, Tamez loves to go hiking, play basketball, and exercise with his kids.
